About
Erik joined SAFL’s Research and Engineering team in 2020. Bring on the science! He specializes in technical and fabrication welding and complex fixturing. From design and sourcing to engineering, welding and assembly, Erik collaborates with SAFL engineers, fabricators, and researchers to repair or produce equipment and fixtures needed for research. He enjoys creating more efficient production flows and problem solving on the fly. Erik’s unique skillset was honed as a custom bicycle fabricator. As the owner and operator of a bicycle fabrication business, he perfected various welding techniques and gained an understanding of applied engineering and thermodynamics. When not working, Erik enjoys planting sunflowers wherever possible.
