Integrated Degree Program
The Technological Leadership Institute's Security Technologies program, in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, offers an integrated Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree program.
This opportunity is available exclusively to students who have been officially admitted to the College of Science & Engineering's Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program. High-achieving students can take additional credits during their final semesters at undergraduate tuition rates, which will count toward the Security Technologies MS program.
Students accepted into the integrated program are guaranteed admission to the MS program upon successful completion of their undergraduate degree. Additionally, the Technological Leadership Institute does not require the GRE for admission to its graduate programs, so students in the integrated program will not need to take the GRE as part of their application.
University of Minnesota Integrated Degree Programs provide a pathway from undergraduate to graduate studies. These programs allow undergraduate students to take master's-level courses, which can be applied toward a master's degree. After completing these courses, students transition to the graduate program to finish their master’s degree.

Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be an enrolled student at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, officially admitted to the College of Science & Engineering's Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program.
- Have a minimum Technical GPA of 3.5, as defined by the College of Science & Engineering.
- Have completed at least 75 credits by the time of application.
- Have earned a grade of C- or better in the following courses:
- CSCI 1933 or CSCI 1913
- CSCI 2011
- CSCI 2021
- CSCI 2033 or a math course with linear algebra content
- CSCI 2041
** if any of these courses are in progress at the time of application, please reach out to [email protected] to discuss your eligibility.
- At the time of application, applicants must have completed or be currently enrolled in at least two CSCI courses at the 3xxx level or higher.
- Apply to the integrated degree program during the semester prior to their final year of undergraduate study, allowing one year (two semesters) to complete both undergraduate degree requirements and graduate-level courses.
- Admission may be revoked if the applicant does not successfully meet all admission requirements.
Students should meet with a Computer Science departmental advisor to discuss the program, verify their eligibility, and assess the feasibility of completing their bachelor’s degree in four years while taking additional graduate credits in their senior year. They should also explore how to fulfill the remaining master’s requirements during the fifth year. Additionally, students are encouraged to meet with Stephanie Falch, Graduate Program Coordinator at the Technological Leadership Institute, for further program details.
