Strobbe wins Borja Award

Assistant Professor Nadja Strobbe of the School of Physics and Astronomy has received the 2025 Guillermo E. Borja award. This honor recognizes promising young faculty members of the College of Science and Engineering for their research and scholarly accomplishments during their probationary period as assistant professors. The award comes with $3,000 for use in scholarly or research pursuits. 

Strobbe’s research in the area of experimental particle physics is playing an integral role in the upgrade of the Compact Muon Solenoid experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Switzerland. Her lab is currently developing the next generation of electronics to keep pace with the improvements to the Collider that will happen during the three and half year shutdown that is scheduled to begin in 2026.
