MSST Faculty Member, Intelligence Expert Reacts to Hijackings Among Nation-Sponsored Hacking Groups

In an article on a foreign nation-sponsored hacking group, security firm researchers are agreeing that the group Turla — which was behind breaches of the U.S. Department of Defense in 2008, as well as breaches in 10 other countries — has conducted a takeover of an attack platform from a competing hacking group known as OilRig. Among those security experts is TLI faculty member Jonathan Wrolstad, principal cyber intelligence analyst for Symantec's Managed Adversary and Threat Intelligence group. Wrolstad teaches in the M.S. in Security Technologies program.

As technology continues to advance, one of the areas that look to benefit the most is that of human services — particularly people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) have great potential for improving the quality of life and independence among this population. One person looking to make a difference is Timothy (Tim) Janssen, who just earned his M.S. in Management of Technology degree in May 2019. We sat down to ask him about his experience in MOT and how he hopes to use what he learned in the program to bring innovation to his industry.

MDI Instructor's Company Announces Market Launch of Wearable Prosthesis

RxFunction, which was co-founded by M.S. in Medical Device Innovation (MDI) faculty member Dr. Lars Oddsson, has announced the market launch of its product Walkasins, a wearable lower limb prosthesis for patients with peripheral neuropathy. Dr. Oddsson's expertise lies in wearables, biomechanics, and the process of taking a product from idea to commercializing it for the consumer and patient market. Learn more about the MDI curriculum he teaches in.
