Fortson Receives Nicholson Medal for Outreach

Professor Lucy Fortson has been awarded the 2019 Nicholson Medal for Outreach by the American Physical Society “for extraordinary work in bringing the excitement and discovery of scientific research to the public through her leadership of the Zooniverse project.”

The Nicholson Medal recognizes the humanitarian aspect of physics and physicists created through public lectures and public media, teaching, research, or science related activities. It includes a stipend of $2,000, the Nicholson medal, and a certificate.
