BME researchers to hold non-invasive brain stimulation workshop

May 12, 2021—All are invited to attend the Workshop on Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation (NIBS) 2021, held online June 3-4. The workshop was created by researchers at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Minnesota and has become a well-respected event in the field, attracting attendees from around the world.

Over two days, attendees will hear about:

  • State-of-the-art modeling methods in non-invasive brain stimulation.
  • Combining these modeling methods with imaging methods.
  • Practical applications in clinical science.

Such tools for selectively manipulating neural systems in the human brain are critical for advancing the neuroscientific understanding of brain function and developing novel therapeutic strategies.

The UMN-grown event—now in its second year—is driven by BME Prof. Alexander Opitz, who runs the event alongside BME researcher Ivan Alekseichuk and the rest of the organizing committee.
