Matthew Johnson Receives Distinguished Teaching Award

April 13, 2024 — BME Professor and Institute for Translational Neuroscience Scholar Matthew Johnson has been awarded the George W. Taylor/CSE Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching.

The College of Science and Engineering Honors and Awards Committee recommended Prof. Johnson for the award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to undergraduate and/or graduate teaching. The honor includes funds that can be used for professional development in teaching and research. 

Prof. Johnson’s research focuses on innovating neuromodulation technologies to improve the quality of life for people with neurological disorders, including movement and psychiatric disorders.

He will be formally recognized at a reception on April 29.
