Prof. Matthew Johnson named Associate Director of the Earl E. Bakken Medical Devices Center 

April 25, 2019 — The Earl E. Bakken Medical Devices Center (MDC), part of the U of M's Institute for Engineering in Medicine (IEM), has appointed Associate Professor Matthew D. Johnson as Associate Director.

Prof. Johnson will support all the activities of the Center, with a special focus on expanding its current research programs. The long-term goal of IEM’s and Bakken MDC’s research program is several large-scale, multi-disciplinary initiatives aimed at clinical translation.

He will also support, in conjunction with Prof. Tay Netoff, IEM’s Annual Neuromodulation Symposium, and he will actively support IEM efforts to build more research collaborations within the University and between University professors and industry.
