Three BME PhD candidates receive Doctoral Dissertation Fellowships

May 12, 2021—A University-wide competition sponsored by the Graduate School awarded three Biomedical Engineering PhD students Doctoral Dissertation Fellowships (DDFs) for the 2021-22 academic year.

Thanks to the fellowship, recipients can devote full-time effort to a research project during the fellowship year. The award includes a stipend of $25,000 for the academic year, tuition for up to 14 thesis credits each semester (fall and spring), and subsidized health insurance through the Graduate Assistant Health Plan.

Gerardo Rodriguez

Caleb Vogt
Advisor: Angela Panoskaltsis-Mortari
Thesis title: "3D Bioprinting Pre-aligned and Pre-vascularized Microtissues for Tissue Engineering of the Gastroesophageal Junction”
