Developing a Strategic Plan for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in our Department

Following a brief summary of recent departmental activity around diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) by Professor Erin Carlson, chair of the Department of Chemistry Diversity & Inclusion Committee, we will introduce Stacie LeSure, Ph.D. She is a consultant based out of Washington, D.C., and an expert in DEI work with specific emphasis in science and engineering. LeSure will be working with the chemistry department to develop, implement, and assess the impacts of a strategic plan around DEI. She will provide some background and discuss the plans, general approach, and expectations. There will be a significant amount of time at the end for questions, comments, and discussion.
