The American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG) was founded in 1963 to certify the credentials of practicing geologists and to advocate on behalf of the geologic profession. The science of geology is vital to the interests of the nation and to best protect public health, safety, welfare, and the environment. AIPG is an organization of qualified geologists dedicated to this mission. AIPG National coordinates and participates in several outreach events for state and federal government.
