Christian Teyssier Receives the Marie Tharp Medal
The 2026 Marie Tharp Medal is awarded to Christian Teyssier in light of profound and lasting contributions to the field, dedication to advancing geoscience, and commitment to mentoring the next generation of scientists.
Larry Edwards Most Highly Cited Researchers
This recognition honors researchers whose citations place them in top 1 percent of citation counts for their field
Kent Kirkby Receives Teaching Award
The CSE Instructional Faculty Teaching Award recognizes non-tenure-line faculty that demonstrate exceptional commitment to and excellence in teaching of students in CSE. This award just debuted in 2025, so Kent is the second ever recipient!
Christof Zweifel Receives Leadership & Service Award
Christof received the 2026 President's Student Leadership & Service Award. recognizes the accomplishments and contributions of outstanding student leaders at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. It is presented to students for their exceptional leadership and service to the University of Minnesota and the surrounding community.
