Accepting new graduate research students
My research interests include:
- Failure mechanisms and statistical precursors — predictive models for brittle–ductile transitions and acoustic emissions to improve early detection of material failure.
- Damage and fracture in soft solids — experimental and computational approaches to study fracture instabilities in deformable materials, with applications in biomedical devices, tissue engineering, and protective systems.
- Mechanics of biological growth and remodeling — continuum models of the actomyosin cortex and plasma membrane to explain cell division, motility, and tissue morphogenesis.
- Fluctuation-driven cell motility — mechanics-informed models of amoeboid motility, with implications for cancer invasion, wound healing, and immune response.
