The department offers a Master of Science (M.S.) in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science (M.S.) in Geoengineering. These programs prepare students to pursue a career in industry or continue their graduate studies in a doctoral program.
Sponsored by the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geo- Engineering and the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, this program allows students to complete a master's degree in civil engineering (MSCE) and a master of urban and regional planning (MURP) in three years.
This innovative program is a partnership with the University’s Acara program in which students spend the fall semester at UMN, carry out a nine-month project abroad (between January and December), and then return to complete the program with a spring semester at UMN.
