Deborah Rodriguez receives SHPE Twin Cities 2020 scholarship

Deborah Jisselle Rodriguez, a double major in chemistry and mathematics, has received a 2020 scholarship from the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) Twin Cities Professional Chapter. Deborah was one of 10 recipients from throughout the area and received the SHPE Twin Cities Scholar scholarship. 

Deborah currently volunteers as an undergraduate researcher for Professor Daniel Harki's lab in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, as a committee member on the Department of Chemistry's Diversity & Inclusion Committee, as a committee member for the Undergraduate Advisory Board, as external relations officer for SHPE-UMN, and as the vice president for the President's Emerging Scholars Program. In recent years, she’s been recognized with the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Undergraduate Scholarship, and by being included in the College of Science & Engineering Dean’s List. Deborah aspires to continue her studies in both mathematics and chemistry followed by a doctorate in chemical biology or medicinal chemistry. Her goal is to become a biomedical researcher who studies diabetes and lupus.
