14 undergraduates participate in summer fellowship program

The Department of Chemistry has offered 14 undergraduate students the opportunity to participate in an abbreviated, five-week, full-time research opportunity through its Summer Research Program. 

The Summer Chemistry Research Program encourages current chemistry majors to learn more about research, and provides them with the opportunity to work in a laboratory under the direction of a faculty member. Funds for these fellowships are provided by the Heisig Endowment, Graham N. Gleysteen Scholarship Fund in Chemistry, the Andrews Endowment, and the Walker Endowment.

2020 Fellowship recipients and their advisers are: Viktor Boris who is advised by Professor Carston Wagner; Adam Cahn who is advised by Professor Lee Penn; Brian Carrick who is advised by Professor Timothy Lodge; Gerrit Christenson who is advised by Professor Renee Frontiera; Katelyn Feuling    who is advised by Professor David Blank; Travis Hammerstad who is advised by professor Courtney Aldrich; Shuhei Kiyozumi who is advised by Professor Aaron Massari; Channing Klein who is advised Professor Ian Tonks; Logan McGraw who is advised by Professor William Pomerantz; Emma Murphy who is advised by Professor Christopher Douglas; Zihan Pengmei who is advised by Professor Connie Lu; Amanda Peroutka who is advised by Professor Timothy Lodge; Trever Sheldon who is advised by Professor Christy Haynes; Sarah Tanck who is advised by Professor Mark Distefano.
