Professor Theresa Reineke named new editor in chief of American Chemical Society Bioconjugate Chemistry journal

The Publications Division of the American Chemical Society has announced Professor Theresa Reineke will serve as the new editor in chief of Bioconjugate Chemistry beginning in January of 2023.

Roberts Group awarded $1.9M National Institutes of Health grant for aryne difunctionalization research

The Roberts Group, led by Assistant Professor Courtney Roberts, has been awarded a Maximizing Investigators' Research Award (MIRA) from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for their continuing catalysis research in the area of aryne difunctionalization reactivity. The award amount of $1,874,339 will be distributed over 5 years to support the ongoing project here at the University of Minnesota.

University of Minnesota Distinguished McKnight University Professor Theresa Reineke has been named a Prager Chair in Macromolecular Science in the University’s Department of Chemistry. The chair is one of two established by the late chemistry Professor Emeritus Stephen Prager and the late Dr. Julie Prager.

Professor Theresa Reineke appointed associate editor of Chemical Science

Professor Theresa Reineke has been appointed as an associate editor for journal Chemical Science, effective May 1, 2022. Established in 2010, Chemical Science is the flagship journal for the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). The journal is diamond open access, with no costs for publishing or reading accepted articles.

In the first edition of Research.com’s top scientists ranking, seven current Department of Chemistry faculty were included in the disciplines of Chemistry and Materials Science. Professor Donald Truhlar led the way, with a ranking of #14 in the world and #9 in the United States in Chemistry. He is joined by Professors Lawrence Que, Marc Hillmyer, Timothy Lodge, Jiali Gao, Andreas Stein, and Ilja Siepmann.
