The Department of Chemistry will welcome Professor Jessica Hoover to the faculty in fall 2023. Hoover joins the University of Minnesota from West Virginia University, where she has been a faculty member since 2012.

The Publications Division of the American Chemical Society has announced Professor Theresa Reineke will serve as the new editor in chief of Bioconjugate Chemistry beginning in January of 2023.

Varun Gadkari joins chemistry faculty

The Department of Chemistry will welcome Dr. Varun Gadkari as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2022. Dr. Gadkari earned his PhD in biochemistry from The Ohio State University and is currently a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Michigan.
Gwendolyn Bailey joins Department of Chemistry

In Fall 2021, the Department of Chemistry will welcome Gwen Bailey as an Assistant Professor. Bailey joins the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities following a postdoctoral appointment at Caltech. She was awarded a Ph.D. in 2018 for work with Deryn Fogg at the University of Ottawa in Canada.

Two professors celebrate decades of research, teaching, and service

Two Department of Chemistry professors, Wayne Gladfelter and Donald Truhlar, are celebrating significant anniversaries with the University of Minnesota in 2019. Gladfelter has been with the faculty in chemistry for 40 years, and Truhlar has been with the department for 50 years.
