Editor & Contributor Onboarding
New editors and contributors must complete the onboarding process as outlined below. Editors receive full editing access and membership in the CSE Drupal Editor Google Group. Contributors receive site editing access only.
Step 1: Request Submission
- Primary contacts should email [email protected] with the following details:
- Website name(s) or URL(s).
- Internet ID(s) of the editor(s).
- Whether the individual(s) should be added or removed from the site(s).
- Specify whether the individual(s) should be an Editor or Contributor.
- Requests are validated by confirming the request comes from the unit's primary contact. If a request originates from another individual, S&WD will verify approval with the unit’s primary contact.
Step 2: Digital Accessibility Training
New CSE Web editors are enrolled in the University’s Digital Accessibility Foundations course. Editors must complete this training before gaining access to the website.
Step 3: Verification
Editors notify S&WD upon course completion. S&WD will verify training completion and grant access to the website.
Step 4: Additional Access and Training
- Editors are added to the CSE Drupal Editor Google Group, where they can connect with other editors and discuss issues or workarounds in Drupal. (Contributors are not added to this group.)
- New editors and contributors are enrolled in the CSE Drupal Training Canvas course for CSE Web-specific training.
Editor Audits
To maintain website security and proper access:
- S&WD conducts quarterly editor audits by reaching out to primary contacts.
- These audits ensure that only authorized individuals have editing access to the site.
