Early giving has started for Give to the Max Day, which is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020. The Department of Chemistry is supporting donations to the Jeannette Brown Lectureship. Your Give to the Max Day gift will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $5,000.

The Department of Chemistry has established the Jeannette Brown Lectureship, honoring the career of Alumna Jeannette Brown and her pioneering as a talented chemist in the pharmaceutical industry for 25 years, author, historian, and tireless leader and advocate for the inclusion and advancement of African American women in chemistry-related professional pursuits and careers.

Department creatively pivots instruction to meet the challenges of COVID-19 environment

With uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 and its sometimes quick-changing impacts, the Department of Chemistry kicked off the fall semester with meaningful learning experiences for students that include online and in-person classroom and laboratory teaching and learning. That planning also allows for a quick pivot to all online learning, if necessary. All of this has been done with the safety of students forefront in mind and meeting COVID-19 protocols.
