Ian Tonks receives LSI Graduate Research Faculty Safety Award

Associate Professor Ian A. Tonks has been selected to receive the Laboratory Safety Institute (LSI) Graduate Research Faculty Safety Award from the American Chemical Society (ACS) Division of Chemical Health and Safety. This award recognizes graduate-level academic research faculty who demonstrate outstanding commitment to chemical health and safety in their laboratories.

Any individual who reports misconduct will be met with support and respect, and retaliation will not be tolerated in any form. Our department prioritizes and will continue to work tirelessly to build and strengthen a climate based on communication and transparency. We strive to listen to and respect all voices in our community. We emphasize that ours is a climate in which inappropriate behavior is simply unacceptable.
Gwendolyn Bailey joins Department of Chemistry

In Fall 2021, the Department of Chemistry will welcome Gwen Bailey as an Assistant Professor. Bailey joins the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities following a postdoctoral appointment at Caltech. She was awarded a Ph.D. in 2018 for work with Deryn Fogg at the University of Ottawa in Canada.
