Dino Xykis appointed as Interim CEO at PSI

Dino Xykis (BCE 1981, MSCE 1983, PhD 1988) has been appointed Interim CEO of Power Solutions International (PSI), headquartered in Wood Dale, Illinois. PSI designs, engineers, manufactures, and sells emission-certified engines and power systems in energy, industrial, and transportation markets. PSI’s engine portfolio includes displacements from .97 liter to 65 liters, which can run on a variety of fuels including natural gas, propane, gasoline, diesel, and biofuels.

Xykis joined PSI as the Vice President of Engineering in 2010, and was named Chief Technical Officer March 2021. As Chief Technical Officer, Xykis is responsible for overseeing advanced product development, engineering design and analysis, on-highway engineering, applied engineering, emissions and certification, engineering operations in Waterford, Michigan, program management, and product strategic planning. Effective June 1, he will take on the additional role of Interim Chief Executive Officer.

Xykis brings more than 30 years of experience in multi-disciplined engineering, including senior management and executive positions. He also has experience as an Adjunct Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. He previously served on the audit and compensation committees of the Board of Directors of Image Sensing Systems (1996 to 2001).

Dino Xykis served on the professional advisory board for the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geo- Engineering for eight years.
