In 2013, the University received some steel from the collapsed I-35W Bridge, which the Department of Civil Engineering fashioned into an oversized Order of the Engineer ring.
Fairhurst to Receive Medal from French Légion d'honneur

Charles Fairhurst, Professor Emeritus of the Department of Civil Engineering, will be inducted as an Officer into the French National Order of the Legion of Honor (Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur) by decree of the President of the French Republic.
