Affiliate Groups
Many mathematicians find it affirming to be active members of communities of people who share their social identities, particularly in cases where those identities are not as well represented within one’s own department or within math more generally. This can be especially important for graduate students and early-career mathematicians.

The School of Mathematics Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee
Our DEI Committee works to develop and review content, strategies, and resources to support the School of Math. The faculty DEI Committee members for the school year 2024-25 are Erkao Bao, Greg Handy, Mike Hill, Dan Spirn, and Sasha Voronov. Melanie Lex represents the staff on the committee. There are also volunteer graduate student and postdoctoral members serving as liaisons with their communities on a rotating basis. The committee invites your comments, ideas, and feedback on DEI at the School of Math.
