Daniel Boley joined the Department of Computer Science & Engineering in 1981 as an assistant professor and was later promoted to a professor. He received his M.S. (1976) and Ph.D. (1981) in computer science from Stanford University. Boley is a senior member of the IEEE, a member of the ACM, and a member of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics. He was named a Distinguished University Teaching Professor, received the Award for Outstanding Contributions to Graduate and Professional Education in 2019, and was named a Distinguished Scientist by ACM in 2020.
