Our faculty members are highly productive educators, researchers, and international leaders in their respective fields.
While studying in CS&E, you will have access to state-of-the-art research facilities that provide you with the tools and resources needed to produce impactful research. We have teams working on everything from underwater robotics to interactive visualizations to the latest breakthroughs in big data and cloud computing. After working on their cutting-edge research projects here in Minnesota, our graduates often go on to continue their career at top-level universities and companies.
Our graduate program in computer science is part of a comprehensive research university with amazing facilities and student opportunities. We are the only Big 10 University located in a major metropolitan area, Minneapolis/St. Paul, home to 17 Fortune 500 companies. You will join a diverse university community that includes more than 2,700 international graduate and professional degree students in more than 200 fields. Students come from all 50 states and more than 130 countries around the world. Our department takes particular advantage of this diversity, collaborating on projects with colleagues from engineering, design, health sciences, natural sciences, business, social science, humanities, and more. We also have extensive collaborations with companies, universities, and government agencies around the country and around the world.
