Eman Ramadan collaborates with Zhi-Li Zhang to co-lead the Computer Networking, Mobile, and AI Research Lab. Her research interests lie broadly in networking, edge and cloud computing, and artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) support for networked systems. Her past research was centered on the analysis, design, and development of content distribution networks and resilient routing. Her current research thrusts focus primarily on: i) building service-oriented, application-aware, highly scalable, resilient, and secure 5G/next-generation (NextG) networked systems; and ii) developing and incorporating novel AI/ML algorithms to enable intelligent software-defined networking infrastructures, edge/cloud systems and emerging applications such as collaborative autonomous driving, Digital Twins, metaverse and Internet-of-Things (IoT).

Professional Background

Eman Ramadan joined the Department of Computer Science & Engineering in spring 2023 as a lecturer and research associate. She is a University of Minnesota alumni (PhD 2022, MS 2014) and was a teaching assistant and co-instructor prior to becoming a full lecturer. She has also held a number of research internships, including with Huawei Technologies, Bell Labs, and Google. In 2023, she earned the CSE Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Postdoc Award, and currently serves as the chair of the CS-IDEA Committee.
