Joseph Nieszner, Graduate Programs Manager

Joseph Nieszner has been with the University of Minnesota since 2010 and the Department of Computer Science & Engineering since 2017. He currently supports and oversees many aspects of our Masters and Doctoral programs including Computer Science, Data Science and the  Bioinformatics and Computational Biology programs. He is a two time alum from the University of Minnesota and holds a bachelor's degree in History and a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Policy Development.

With extensive experience advising both master’s and doctoral students, Joseph works closely with them throughout every stage of their academic journey — from initial onboarding through program milestones and graduation. He is deeply committed to student success and strives to ensure that processes are clear, efficient, and student-centered.

Joseph enjoys solving complex problems, improving systems, and collaborating with faculty and staff to continually enhance program quality and the overall graduate student experience. In his free time Joseph enjoys coaching his kids soccer team, leading their cub scout ben, works in his garden and running.
