Mai Al-Khatib's research interests are computational cognitive modeling of language processing, bilingual language processing, building digitized corpora for under-resourced languages, and linguistics and social justice.

Professional Background

Mai Al-Khatib joined the Department of Computer Science & Engineering in fall 2024 as a lecturer. She is a University of Minnesota alumni (MS, 2007 and PhD 2023), and was a teaching assistant with the University of Minnesota Institute of Linguistics and Department of Sociology.
