Brock Shamblin Wins 2024 Riedl TA Award

Graduate student Brock Shamblin earned the John T. Riedl Memorial Graduate Teaching Assistant Award for 2024. This award recognizes graduate teaching assistants whose efforts have helped other students succeed in the classroom. In addition to the recognition at the CS&E Graduate Student Graduation Celebration, each recipient will receive a $2,000 prize.

Shamblin was selected for their dedication and service to the students in CSCI 2021: Machine Architecture and Organization. They had multiple nominations, which mentioned their ability to break down and reframe complex topics.

Before his untimely passing away in 2013, Professor John T. Riedl, himself a devoted, exceptional teacher, asked that funds contributed by his friends and colleagues be used to establish this memorial award.
