Ville Cantory and Shonal Gangopadhyay win the 2022 Riedl TA award

Grad students Ville Cantory and Shonal Gangopadhyay have been awarded the John T. Riedl Memorial Graduate Teaching Assistant Award for 2022. This award recognizes graduate teaching assistants whose efforts have helped other students succeed in the classroom.

They were selected for their dedication and service to the students in CSCI 2033: Elementary Computational Linear Algebra, CSCI 5607: Fundamentals of Computer Graphics 1, and CSCI 3081W: Program Design & Development. Multiple nominations for Ville and Shonal were received, which all mentioned their extensive knowledge of the course topics and their availability to assist students (both during and outside of office hours).

Please join CS&E in extending our congratulations to Ville Cantory and Shonal Gangopadhyay for their dedication in helping our student body in their academic and career pursuits.

Before his untimely passing away in 2013, Professor John T. Riedl, himself a devoted, exceptional teacher, asked that funds contributed by his friends and colleagues be used to establish this memorial award.
