Gini serving as 2021 IJCAI conference chair

CS&E Professor Maria Gini is the Conference Chair for the upcoming 30th International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI), a premier international gathering of AI researchers and practitioners.

She will also be leading a panel discussion, “Women in CS: where are we? what to do next?” during the conference, as well as serving on the IJCAI-21 Awards Selection Committee, which makes recommendations to the IJCAI Board of Trustees for the Award for Research Excellence, the John McCarthy Award, and the Computers and Thought Award.

IJCAI-21 will be held in Montreal-themed virtual reality from August 19 to August 26, 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gini has a long history of service with IJCAI, including leading the doctoral consortium in 2018, organizing the CRA-W/CSC Discipline Specific Workshop in 2016, and co-organizing the Women in AI workshop in 2015.
