Professional Background
Shana Watters joined the Department of Computer Science & Engineering as an associate professor in 2017. She also currently serves on the Strategic Planning Committee. Watters received her M.S. (2006) and Ph.D. (2010) in computer science from the University of Minnesota. Prior to her time at the University, she served as a systems analyst at Wellbridge, Inc. from 1999-2004 and as an associate professor at Augsburg University from 2007-16.
Watter’s focuses on developing sustainable support structures to help students persist in the computer science major, succeed in the early CS1 and CS2 courses, and develop skills for undergraduate research experiences.
