Professional Background

Nikolaos Papanikolopoulos joined the Department of Computer Science & Engineering in 1992. He was promoted to full professor in 2001 and served as the Director of Undergraduate Studies from 2001-04. He is currently the Director of the Minnesota Robotics Institute. Outside of his work at the University, Papanikolopoulos is the founder of ReconRobotics Inc. and serves as a consultant for numerous companies, including Toyota, Canon, Intel, Best Buy, and many others. He also helped create the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Cyprus.
