Folwell Video Carousel
What is it?
A video carousel is a widget that allows you to create a gallery of videos with accompanying text. The Video Carousel allows you to add up to four videos with the option of using custom thumbnail images for each.
When one of the thumbnail images is selected, it displays the corresponding YouTube video.
How do I use it?
The Video Carousel is available for all pages that allow custom widgets, including Advanced Page, Feature Story, News, and Unit Landing Page.
While editing or creating any of these page types, add a widget to any section and select "Video Carousel."
On the editing screen, you must select a "theme," which is how the content will be displayed. Learn about video carousel themes.
Adding text
Fill out the Carousel Title, Carousel Text, and optional Carousel Link.
While these text fields are optional, the widget will have odd gaps and whitespace without them.
Accessibility tips:
- Be sure to select the appropriate Carousel Title Format (H2, H3, etc) based on the context and content of your page.
- YouTube videos must have human-edited captions. If your video does not have speaking or audio, we recommend adding the caption "This video has no audio" so that viewers know they aren't missing audio content and vital information.
Adding videos
You can add up to four videos to a Video Carousel. The order in which they appear can be adjusted by dragging and dropping the sort icons to the left of each video and thumbnail block.
If you do not add a customized video thumbnail, it will display the default YouTube thumbnail.
You can add more videos by clicking the "Add Video with Thumbnail" button.

Carousel Themes
Classic
A two-column layout with equal widths. In the left column, the Title, Text, Link, and Thumbnails are displayed. In the right column, the selected video is displayed in a larger format.
Vertical
A one-column layout that spans the full width of the layout column. The Title, Text, and Link appear above a large video. Below the video are smaller thumbnails.
Wide
The Title, Text, and Link are displayed in a single, full-width column above the videos and thumbnails. Below the text content is a two-column layout, approximately a 1:4 ratio. The first column is narrow and has a vertical stack of thumbnail images. The second, wider column displays the full video.
Wide (reversed)
The Title, Text, and Link are displayed in a single, full-width column above the videos and thumbnails. Below the text content is a two-column layout, approximately a 4:1 ratio. The first column is wide and displays the full video. The second, narrower column displays a vertical stack of thumbnail images.
